U.S. SENATOR BLANCHE LINCOLN VISITS JK-NORTH AMERICA

Facility Tour And Discussion Of Tan Tax On The Agenda

Jonesboro, Arkansas — October 2010 — U.S. Senator Blanche Lincoln (D-Ark.) visited the JK-North America facility on Wednesday, October 6th from 8:30AM - 9:30AM. Immediately upon her arrival, she and her staff greeted all employees as well as local salon owners and spoke about her experience with tanning. She also addressed the challenges associated with the tan tax and how important it was that any tax be fair and based on good facts.

"I, along with everyone here, are thankful for her support and that she is interested in fighting for our cause," said Hans-Juergen Kreitz, President & CEO of JK-North America. "I appreciate the time she spent with us today at our facility and that she was able to see first hand the professionalism within our industry."

The Senator was treated to a tour of the JK-North America facility where she learned all about the process of manufacturing tanning beds and how crucial this facility and the jobs provided are to the economy. She also discovered that some of the tanning beds made in Jonesboro are exported overseas. Afterwards, the Senator sat down with JK-North America executives and salon owners to discuss the impact of the tan tax and hear all angles of how it affects not only local businesses, but the industry as a whole.

"Senator Lincoln has worked hard on behalf of the tanning industry to fight the tan tax and personally presented our side of the issue to President Barack Obama," said Jerry Deveney, Executive Director of Sales at JK-North America. "We were honored to have her visit our world-class facility and I enjoyed hearing her stance on repealing the tan tax and I also enjoyed the opportunity to show her how JK-North America is a crucial part of Arkansas' business infrastructure."
